The Overthinker’s Guide to Modern Marketing is proudly embracing the spirit and legacy of twohundredby200, a studio that redefined what creative collaboration could look like.
Established in 2002, twohundredby200 was a compact, multi-disciplinary studio built on a simple but powerful idea: great work comes from people who genuinely enjoy what they do.
The team delivered across a wide spectrum of disciplines, from graphic design, web design, and brand identity to advertising, museum installations, and event and festival design.
Purposeful Work, Delivered Collaboratively
At its core, the studio set out to create work that was both inspiring and purposeful, meeting client needs without compromising on creativity. Its strength lay in a collective of highly skilled individuals, each bringing specialist expertise to the table, united by a shared commitment to imaginative thinking, clarity, and precision.
twohundredby200 became known for its close, collaborative approach with clients, tackling complex briefs, tight timelines, and challenging budgets with confidence and originality. Their process stripped away industry jargon, making ideas accessible and decisions easier, while ensuring every outcome remained impactful and effective.
Notable Clients and Global Reach
The studio’s client list spoke volumes about its reputation and reach, spanning major broadcasters, global engineering firms, cultural institutions, and some of the UK’s most iconic live events. Collaborations included organisations such as BBC, Balfour Beatty, BAE Systems, Raytheon, Rolls-Royce, as well as renowned events like Boardmasters, Wickerman Festival, Wizard Festival and T in the Park, alongside public sector bodies including the Scottish Government.
Their work also extended to landmark national and international projects, partnering with organisations such as the Olympic Delivery Authority, Virgin Trains, RBS Group, Royal Society for the Protection of Birds, Royal Highland and Agricultural Society of Scotland, National Museums Scotland, Natural History Museum and TAG Heuer, further reinforcing the studio’s ability to deliver creative work at scale, across sectors, and on some of the most high-profile stages.
The twohundredby200 Magazine
Beyond client work, the studio also launched the influential twohundredby200 magazine, a globally recognised creative publication and one of the early pioneers of the PDF format. First released in 2002, it became a key voice in the emerging digital publishing and print-on-demand space, running through to its final edition in 2018.
A Lasting Legacy
Although twohundredby200 began winding down in November 2018 and officially closed in April 2019, its ethos continues to resonate. That same spirit now lives on through the design studio Taesea, and is also carried forward in The Overthinker’s Guide to Modern Marketing Podcast, where thoughtful creativity, clarity, and collaboration remain at the heart of everything.
